As year 2005 almost over, here i wanna write sumtin not really important about some place where i've spent some time during the year. I travel lots this year for job, and most of them free. Hopefully it will be the same for 2006, i will travel for different places within Indonesia or even worldwide, who knows!
MEULABOH
It's a town where I got experienced about working in an International organization. At first I felt strange n everything is difficult. So I was there 2 weeks after the tsunami disaster happened.
I was there with others to set up the field office for this organization. It was big challenge for me, from a fresh graduated architecture student become an Indonesia-English translator, go to the villages face all those peoples and their leaders, to the IDP's camp for the assessment n assistants, built mobiles clinic, set up a co-ordination meeting ( I was not the one who set it up for sure but I was there when it's process happened which is a great experiment 4 me).
Then I met new friends, where brought me to this western style parties, which is I loved it so much.
There are 2 places to eat that I like. 1st called mie kepiting (crab noddle) while the other is mie kocok (shake noodle). Both of them are delicious. Was there since January to end of June 2005. Then I had to move to Calang..
MEDAN
So much different with a town where I grow up, where I got taught that u must b treat others in a very good, respectful n friendly way. People are harder in the way they speak to u, quiet loud and clear the way they treat u. That's what I was thinking those days when I arrived from my hometown to live in Medan for education purpose.
It's a real crowded town, during the day, the traffic jam just like Jakarta. Approximately got 3 million people in during the day n 2 million remain during the nyte. All those new shopping malls built all over town, but not so much open space remain. But I love Medan, u can get lots things in.
It's a city where I start my future.
NIAS
A small island part of North Sumatera province. I am in there now, working. I quit my work in Aceh n decided to work in here because I like the beach, honestly.
They say it has the coolest beach for surfing in the world, well I doubt it (I cant surf n dont even swim..)
